About Us:
Blue Valley Aquaculture (BVA) is a family owned business established in 1999. We are located Northwest of Sutton, Nebraska. This farmstead was purchased with the dream of raising fish. Here at Blue Valley, no antibiotics or hormones are used to speed the growth of our fish. We raise our fish the old fashioned way with the best water, the highest quality feeds available, and a lot of time and honest effort.

About Us:
Howard Eakes would have been the first to admit that he lived the American dream. The success story began in 1945 at the porcelain kitchen table where Howard Eakes repaired office machines. Today there are 10 Eakes locations, 120,000 square feet of store space, and 183 employees. Eakes locations currently service 86 counties in Nebraska as well as the northern tier of Kansas, and the northeast corner of Colorado.

Much of the continued growth is attributed to the Eakes team of store managers, as well as a qualified support staff. Ron and Dan Eakes, sons of Howard, currently serve as the corporation's Vice President and Secretary-Treasurer respectively. The operation also includes a group of Corporate Managers: Human Resources, Advertising, Purchasing, Account, Information Systems, and Product Managers for Copiers & Fax, Supplies, and Furniture.

The company's product offering includes copiers, fax, supplies, furniture, small machines, filing systems and business forms.

The continuing success from one generation to the next can be attributed to things that never go out of style, like trust and common sense. Customer service is stressed in every aspect of the business. In addition to customers, the Eakes company strongly believes in giving back to its communities. The owners and employees contribute hundreds of volunteer hours, not to mention thousands of dollars, to charitable causes.

About Us:

Bar B Que Specialties, Inc., home of JB's Fat Boy Barbecue sauces and Rubs/Seasonings, is seated in the very heartland of America's farming enterprise. We have taken that same hard working ethic and applied it to our working business environment, with the result of a fast growing company well known for its quality products.

Incorporated in 2002, Bar B Que Specialties, Inc. was created to market the rub seasonings that Mr. Burt developed in his food vending operation. That particular food vending operation had traveled extensively over much of the United States, and along the way Mr. Burt had become educated to the benefits of using rubs in grilling and smoking his meat products to obtain optimal tenderness as well as a moist food product. After using various meat rubs already available on the market, he developed one more suited to his own operation, a rub totally unique to the marketplace. As more and more people became acquained with his grilled and smoked meats, the request to purchase his rub came more and more frequently, and the company was formed to market it.

About Us:
We're a sub-division of local county government with the responsibility of governing the quality and quantity of ground water.

More than 56,000 citizens rely on the Upper Big Blue Natural Resources District (NRD) to provide direction and assistance in the wise use, conservation and development of our soil, water and related natural resources.
The NRD is dedicated to the conservation and careful development of natural resources to serve everyone's needs. The NRD system was created in 1972, following Nebraska legislation which consolidated more than 150 statewide special-purpose districts into 23 NRDs. The NRDs correspond to major river basins in Nebraska. Therefore, NRDs carry the names of these rivers, hence the Upper Big Blue NRD is named after the uppermost portion of the Big Blue River.
NRDs are organized as governmental subdivisions of the state. Local control is provided by a board of directors. At the Upper Big Blue NRD, a 17-member board of directors establishes policy. These directors are placed in office through the general election process and represent the community's interests in conservation. Across the state, NRDs offer a major source of assistance to landowners in conservation and natural resources management. Not only do the board members make decisions about conservation programs at the District level, they also bring a wealth of local judgment and experience when adapting state and national programs to local situations.
The NRD staff at York and the field clerks at the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) offices in each county are responsible for implementing NRD policy and regulations.
A major source of funding for projects, programs and administration comes from a levy on all taxable property within the District. Other sources include federal and state funding, as well as program fees. Certain projects may also be funded with a portion of other local, state, private and/or federal revenues. The NRD is empowered to coordinate land and water management programs with local, state and federal conservation organizations and other governmental units.
Mission Statement
"The Upper Big Blue Natural Resources District shall be a leader in conserving, protecting, developing and managing the natural resources of the District for the health and welfare of the people of the District."
